We also have a range of training courses that have been subsidised by the NSW Government through the Smart and Skilled program, and offer more affordable training options for our students.

NSW Smart and Skilled Program

Smart and Skilled is a NSW Government program that helps people get training and qualifications in in-demand skills and industries.

As an approved Smart and Skilled training provider, MAST NSW is able to offer a range of reduced-cost courses for eligible recipients through these subsidies from the NSW Government.

Click here to find out which Smart and Skilled courses we offer.

Unique Student Identifier (USI)

A Unique Student Identifier (USI) is your individual education number for life. You need a USI to undertake training and education at a university, TAFE or other nationally recognised training organisation.

As MAST NSW is a registered training provider for the NSW Smart and Skilled Program, you will need a USI to do a course with us. More information on creating a USI can be found here>>>

Once you have a USI, you are able to access an online record of all your vocational education and training (VET) in Australia. More information on VET can be located here>>>

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

If you already have experience or knowledge in a course and MAST NSW recognises this, you can gain recognition through Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). MAST NSW has a formal process to assess your prior learning, and please Contact Us to discuss further and apply for RPL.

Where you are granted RPL for one or more units of competency, your student fee will be adjusted.

More information on RPL can be found on the NSW Government website.

Additional Support

NSW FITC will liaise with sensitivity to the needs of vulnerable applicants, such as individuals who are not fluent in English or have an intellectual or physical disability.
