Additionally, one weekend class for Elements of Shipboard Safety is available if needed and an additional Saturday class is available if you also want to obtain your Radio Operators license.

Open a World of New Career Opportunities

Once you successfully complete your maritime training course and attain your Certificate III in Maritime Operations Certificate of Competency, you suddenly have access to a wide range of career opportunities to better suit your needs. With this certificate, you can easily obtain employment commanding a commercial vessel greater than 24 metres long in the Exclusive Economic Zone, otherwise known as the EEZ.

Commercial vessels can include but are not limited to things like:

  • Ferries
  • Charter Boats
  • Tourism Vessels
  • Dive Boats

  • Water Taxis
  • Fishing Boats
  • Whale Watching Boats and More

Additionally, you will have the certification you need to act as a Chief Mate or a deck watchkeeper on a vessel that is greater than 35 metres long in the EEZ, or you may choose to act in any other deck capacity.
