With over 40 years of maritime training expertise, we are one of Australia’s most established maritime education providers.

You train on a working harbour in Newcastle, not in a classroom cut off from the water. Our site sits beside operating commercial vessels, and you learn on a fleet of specialised training boats. The skills you practise are the skills you use on the job from day one.

We back the hands-on training with serious kit. You get time on a full-bridge vessel simulator that recreates real near coastal conditions, plus virtual reality drills for high-risk tasks like firefighting. It lets you build confidence and make mistakes safely, well before you are on a live deck.

Most courses run as blended learning. You work through the theory online at your own pace, then come in for practical blocks at our Newcastle facility. It means you can keep working or studying around your course, and our trainers are with you every step of the way.

We offer a range of maritime training programs including recreational boat licences, personal watercraft (PWC) licences, maritime safety training, and commercial maritime certifications designed.

Our courses are open to anyone building a career on the water, from complete beginners through to working crew and skippers adding another ticket. For nationally recognised courses you’ll generally need to be at least 16, have a basic level of English, and hold a Unique Student Identifier (USI). Some higher qualifications ask for sea service or a lower ticket first, and we’ll always check you’re eligible before you enrol.

Yes. We’re a Registered Training Organisation delivering nationally recognised maritime qualifications and skill sets, and our commercial courses are approved by the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA). When you finish, you hold a qualification that’s recognised right across Australia.

It depends on the course. Short skill sets like Elements of Shipboard Safety run over a few days, while full qualifications such as a Certificate III take longer and combine self-paced online theory with practical assessment blocks at our Newcastle facility.
